Emily was an undergraduate Botany major
working in the laboratory for academic year '98-'99 and summer of '99. She graduated in the Winter 2000. After graduation, she worked as
conducting urban forest inventories.

- Vis, ML, Miller, EJ & Hall, MM 2001. Biogeographic analyses of Batrachospermum helminthosum
(Batrachospermales, Rhodophyta) in North America using molecular and morphological data. Phycologia 40: 2-9.
In addition to the research for the paper, she assisted in a number of projects including:
- Catalog of the Bryophyte Collection of the Bartley Herbarium.
- Photographing common bryophytes and creating student authored webpages.
